The domain-only appraisal values the domain name as a digital asset. It does not include the value of an existing brand, website, audience, user base or company. Use stage 2 for an active project.

Frequently asked questions

Detailed answers instead of one-liners. These are key questions; the FAQ hub contains all 46 answers.

Is the DNx3 domain valuation really free?

Yes. The core domain valuation is free and can be used without registration. After entering a valid domain you receive the estimated value range, DNx3 score and the main valuation factors directly on the website.

Only the optional premium certificate costs a symbolic €1. That euro is not an entry fee for the valuation. It acts as spam protection for certificates and the public top list and also as a small tip supporting the operation and further development of DNx3.

Is the DNx3 valuation a guaranteed sale price?

No. Every domain valuation is an estimate. A real sale price only exists when a specific buyer and seller agree on a transaction. Timing, negotiating position, budget, brand strategy and the buyer's individual need can move the final price significantly.

DNx3 therefore uses ranges and distinguishes between wholesale value, realistic market value and strategic-buyer value. The purpose is to create more realistic expectations, not to promise that a domain will sell for a particular amount.

Which factors are included in a domain-only valuation?

DNx3 considers the domain extension, length of the core name, hyphens and numbers, brandability, relevant keywords, commercial usefulness and—where available—registration age. These inputs create component scores for extension, length, keyword, brand and commercial quality plus an overall score.

The model does not simply add points. Weaknesses can create real penalties and strong signals can increase value. It is deliberately conservative so that weak domains are not made expensive by artificial minimum prices.

Why can a famous domain such as google.de look surprisingly low in domain-only mode?

Because domain-only mode deliberately values the name, not the company behind it. Most of Google's economic value comes from its brand, technology, users, reach, products, data and operating business. Those assets do not belong in a pure domain-name estimate.

That separation is intentional. DNx3 should not invent a multimillion-euro domain value just because the typed domain currently belongs to a globally famous company.

When should I use the website/project valuation?

Stage two is useful when you are considering the sale of an active project rather than only the domain name. It can incorporate monthly revenue, monthly profit, the stability period of those earnings and approximate monthly maintenance effort.

If you only want to know what the name itself might be worth without the existing operation, domain-only mode is the clearer choice.

Why does the certificate cost a symbolic €1?

The euro has two purposes. First, it creates a very small technical and economic barrier against automated mass submissions, test domains and link spam. Second, it serves as a small tip supporting DNx3 operation and development.

The free domain valuation is not restricted by this. If you only want the valuation result, you do not need to buy anything.

Can I save the certificate as a PDF?

Yes. The certificate view is designed so that your browser's print function can save it as a PDF or print it on paper. No additional PDF-download service is required.

The exact menu wording depends on your browser and operating system. Usually you choose Print and then select Save as PDF.

Is my domain published automatically after buying a certificate?

No. A paid certificate only unlocks the ability to use the top-list feature. Publication remains switched off by default.

After payment you must explicitly opt in before the domain is shown publicly. Without that consent, the valuation stays out of the public ranking.
